The 3rd Edition! 2023 Lingyange Summer Internship Camp Opens

On July 10, the 3rd edition of the Lingyange Summer Internship Camp was held at the Lingyange headquarter's operation center, with simultaneous participation from Hengqin、Shenzhen、Shanghai、Taiwan and other regions. More than 30 undergraduate and graduate students from 19 universities at home and abroad joined this internship camp, embarking on a one-month internship journey.

At the opening ceremony, Albert Li, CEO of Lingyange, introduced the company and its corporate culture to the interns, reviewed the company's development history and the previous internship camp, and interacted with the interns. Albert Li said that the semiconductor industry is a systematic industry with a large demand for talents in technology, finance, management, and other fields. It is one of Lingyange's missions to actively train basic engineering personnel for chip design and solve the difficulty of insufficient professional talents in the domestic chip field. The Lingyange internship camp is guided by technical management departments and integrates the efforts of various departments in the company. After three years of upgrades and iterations, the current system has become increasingly improve and provides comprehensive semiconductor industry course content and diversified activities tailored to the needs of interns. It is hoped that the students will seize the opportunity to enhance their professional abilities and comprehensive strength through the Lingyange internship camp.

According to a report published by Deloitte, there are about 2 million people employed in the global semiconductor industry in 2022, and it is expected to increase by 1 million by 2030; according to predictions by the China Semiconductor Industry Association, by 2024, the total size of the industry's talent pool will reach about 790,000, and there will be a talent gap of about 230,000. Since its establishment, Lingyange has held multiple spring and summer internship camps, training more than 100 chip foundation talents. Many interns have contributed their professional talents to the semiconductor industry after graduation and truly achieved "chips" continuation from generation to generation.

This edition of the internship camp has increased the number of internships and expanded the scale of activities compared to previous editions. As of now, more than 30 interns have been recruited for this internship camp, from Macau University, Macao University of Science and Technology, Zhuhai University of Science and Technology, Tongji University, University of California, Antabara, University of California, Irvine, University of South Florida, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Jiangxi Agricultural University and other 19 universities. Among them, 35% are graduate students.

During the one-month internship camp, interns will participate in industry information morning reading, professional course learning, project practice, and other activities. Industry experts and professional R& D will teach the interns about the development situation of the semiconductor industry, help them improve their professional skills, and lay a foundation for their future development. Some outstanding interns may also have the opportunity to join Lingyange.

The human resources and administration supervisor of Lingyange explained the company's organizational structure and corporate system to help interns better understand workplace culture and integrate into the collective. Jin Dongyi, an intern from the 2023 spring internship camp, shared his feelings and harvest from participating in the internship camp at the opening ceremony to help this edition's interns learn more about the internship camp.

In this internship camp, several college students from Macau University actively participated, including four graduate students who were recommended by Zhuhai Macau University Technology Research Institute - Lingyange Joint Laboratory. Huang Tianyu is one of them. He is studying for a degree in electrical and computer engineering at Macau University. He hopes to understand the development trends of the chip industry, learn how to apply theoretical knowledge to industrialization projects, and meet industry experts and make new friends who share similar interests during this internship camp.

Gao Yijia is a student majoring in English language and literature at Jiangxi Agriculture University who will enter her third year in September. She is one of the few liberal arts students participating in this internship camp. Gao Yijia said that she has no internship experience or participation in similar internship camps before and wants to understand company operations and employee interactions through this event. At the same time, she hopes to improve her communication and ability of reaction and gain a better understanding of the technology industry.
