The camp is ongoing | Our youth is not confused

On February 20 , the 2023 spring camp of Zhuhai Lingyange Semiconductor Inc., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Lingyange ") opened in Hengqin Deep Cooperation Zone. So far, the campers have spent two months of learning. Halfway through the camp, what are the feelings and gains of the campers?

Let's see what the camp representatives have to say!

Ye Xiaolan, a senior student from the University of Macau, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Under the recommendation of a university professor, she participated in this camp. Ye Xiaolan is a native of Macao who has spoken Cantonese and English since she was young. Participating in the camp was a major challenge for her to speak Mandarin. In the camp, there were morning reading classes from Monday to Friday, which required the campers to broadcast in Chinese or English, aiming to exercise their language expression ability and understand the industry trends. If Ye Xiaolan was assigned to read English news, she could naturally speak fluently and standardly. However, in order to improve her Mandarin, Ye Xiaolan always read Chinese news. She would practice many times in private, look up the pronunciation of the words she didn't know, and mark them with pinyin. Through morning reading, her Mandarin is improving little by little. Of course, besides the progress of Mandarin, Ye Xiaolan also learned more semiconductor knowledge through the camp and laid a solid foundation for her future professional research and employment.

Liao Weiyu is from the University of Macau Science and Technology, majoring in Software Engineering and currently a senior student. He hopes to make up for the shortage of his school learning and accumulate some practical experience in advance to lay a solid foundation for further learning. Liao Weiyu admits that when he first received the project, he didn't know how to cooperate with his partner, and a lot of work was duplicated. Finally, he sought help from industry senior people in the camp and received many good suggestions. The cases described by the trainers also gave him a lot of inspiration, and his work efficiency has been improved a lot compared with before.

Yi Ruoyu is also from the University of Macau Science and Technology, majoring in Computer Science and currently a senior student. As a student who mainly studies software in university, he needs to strengthen his knowledge of hardware. In the camp, there are not only courses on software, but also professional courses and project practices on hardware, which are good learning opportunities for Yi Ruoyu. Through learning in the camp, he has a deeper understanding of computers.

Xin Wei is a first-year graduate student from the University of Macau, majoring in Microelectronics. Participating in the camp is mainly to understand the general trends and overall workflow of the microelectronics industry, so as to find a direction for his future development. Xin Wei said that in the camp, he realized that the microelectronics industry is an industry that requires long-term experience accumulation and extremely precise division of labor. Therefore, while strengthening his professional knowledge and skills, Xin Wei also pays special attention to communication and cooperation with team members and fully utilizes the role of the team. In the camp, Xin Wei learned about the development direction and prospects of chips in different fields such as automotive chips, artificial intelligence chips, and medical chips. He is very interested in the use of chips on neural networks and hopes to engage in further academic research.

Among this group of interns, Zhang Wei is one of the few non-engineering majors. Zhang Wei is from the University of Macau Science and Technology and currently a second-year graduate student majoring in hospitality management. In the camp, Zhang Wei's role is as a research assistant, participating in research while also assisting GMO with some auxiliary work. The main purpose of participating in this camp is to understand the differences between technology companies and traditional companies in terms of operations, increase his internship experience in the chip industry, and prepare for future employment choices. In the camp, Zhang Wei learned a lot about chip-related knowledge that he had never touched before, understood how functional departments coordinate and support company operations, and also met a group of energetic classmates.

The interns participating in the camp come from different schools and majors but share the same goal: to accumulate experience and improve themselves. In Lingyange's camp, there are plenty of courses, industry experts guiding them, as well as practical opportunities for daily harvests. They will not waste time and their youth will not be confused.
