On December 26, the certification presentation ceremony of ISO 26262:2018 Automotive Functional Safety was held at the headquarters of Zhuhai Lingyange Semiconductor Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Lingyange"). This certificate indicates that Lingyange has established a product development and management process system that completely complies with the highest level ASIL D of automotive functional safety according to the requirements of ISO 26262:2018 standard.

ISO 26262 is an authoritative international standard for automotive functional safety. It is one of the entry thresholds for global electronic component suppliers to enter the automotive industry. The standard covers functional safety requirements planning, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, configuration, and other aspects, throughout the entire lifecycle of the product. The establishment of a functional safety process system is a fundamental requirement for meeting functional safety standards.

Under the guidance of the SGS China Functional Safety Center, Lingyange strictly followed the requirements of the ISO 26262:2018 standard and worked closely with SGS experts to achieve a functional safety standard development process that covers the entire lifecycle of the product, including functional safety management, hardware development, software development, and support processes. Based on the integration of the company's existing development process system, a management and development team with functional safety expertise was established.

After an independent audit by SGS, Lingyange's functional safety standard development process was found to be in line with the requirements of the ISO 26262:2018 standard, and was awarded the ASIL D process certification for functional safety. This move will lay a solid foundation for Lingyange's future development and certification of functional safety products.

At the certification presentation ceremony, Albert Li, CEO of Lingyange, expressed his gratitude to SGS for their professional guidance. He said that as a chip design service company, automotive chips are one of the three target application areas for Lingyange. LYG's self-developed automotive MCU reference design platform 40nm test chip successfully lit up in 2022. The certification of ISO 26262:2018 Automotive Functional Safety at the highest level ASIL D demonstrates the recognition and affirmation of Lingyange 's high-standard and high-quality automotive chip research and development capabilities by the certification body. By implementing ISO 26262, Lingyange will provide better and more optimized services to automotive companies, helping them achieve high-quality development.

SGS stated that the ISO 26262:2018 Road Vehicles Functional Safety Standard aims to improve the functional safety of automotive electronic/electrical products. It has been implemented for over a decade in the automotive and semiconductor industries, and is widely recognized by domestic and foreign companies and experts, with international authoritative status. Currently, the country is paying more and more attention to functional safety, with increasingly high requirements and more specific regulations. Process certification is the first and most critical step in the field of functional safety. By keeping up with standard updates, Lingyange's recent certification in functional safety will further establish its foundation for development in the field of functional safety, help it occupy an advantage in the industry, and enable it to expand its market in both China and internationally.
